O Lord
O Lord grant me some peace
With every passing day I decrease
I see now that I am neither my bones
Nor my flesh
Something happened
Out there in the wilderness

Please forgive me
I knew not what I did
I thought I showed courage
But in fact I hid
And now I say, O Lord
I say: “Whatever it takes…

I loved a woman
But that was long ago
I tried to drink
Where the beautiful bird had flown
I wasted time
And I wasted my blood
And all the while
You carried me in the flood

Please forgive me
I should have walked with you
I could have helped you
If only I’d been true
I thought I loved you
I thought I pulled the sword from the lake
Please forgive me for all my mistakes.

You know me
I feel it with every breath
