Heart-shaped leaf

Heart-shaped leaf

There’s a heart-shaped leaf
That reminds me of you
It fell out of the sky
When I was walking

At first there was just one
And then one turned into two
Now I see them everywhere
Even when I’m dreaming

I don’t know what it means
But it feels like a little sign
To not give up on loving you…
As if I could

Where do I go from here?
Somewhere, way down the line
I have faith in God above
To guide my footsteps

And I know that God loves you
He tells me all the time
Even the bad is good
There are no mistakes
No no…

I thought we’d do this thing together
But feelings are not truth
They’re just a drama
In the mystery…

Something
Changed in you
It cut like
A knife

And something
Nearly died in me
But I was given
The kiss of life

So there are these heart-shaped leaves
I keep one in a book
Then I know what page I’m on
Every tomorrow

The harvest moon is full
It’s friday the thirteenth
And autumn sings her song
Of sorrow

At first the leaves were green
And then they turned to gold
And that’s the one I keep
To remind me of you

That’s the one I keep
To remind me of you
