One with God

One with God

In the dead
Of the night
‘Neath the veil
O’er the light

I am alone with myself
And yet I’m not alone.

The silver moon
She sings to me
Of the stars
And of the sea

A silhouette of my life
Appears before me

O time is a boat
Wherein we sail
And love is a dance
In the shadows

The golden thread
Of my life
Is but a ray
Of sunlight

I am alone
And yet connected to Thee

There was a time
When you & I
We were lovers
In the sky

And from that love
My soul was born
Under the cherry tree

O my lives are like
Pieces of mosaic
Unearthed by a child
In a field

Speak to me not
Of the rain & the flood
Speak to me only
Of the miracle of the blood

I will go to the forest
To fetch some more wood
And I go
To be one with God

In the sun
I grow the wheat
And in the garden
The beet

And the corn
And the lily
And the rose

In the meadow
The deer
And the falcon
Flies near

And my language
Is not of this world

Bread in the oven
The Holy child in the womb
The Holy child in the womb
Of creation

In the sunny golden plains
Play the girls with their braids
And the boys with their weapons
And their warrior songs

A thousand time I have left
With my carousing friends
But I always come home
To be one with God

Sun-kissed and stronger
The harvest time this year
The seeds of your love
Are well-sown and pure

So what does it mean
To belong to this folk?
Where does it lead to
This endless road?

A thousand times I have left
But I always return
Back to source
To be one with God

To be one with God
